Michael’s specialist expertise lies in statutory audit and group reporting, statutory accounts preparation, and compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS. Michael’s area of focus will be delivering corporate audits for private equity and privately owned businesses, subsidiaries of overseas groups, and pension funds.
Michael is well-versed in advising on the impact of changes in accounting standards and disclosure requirements, including changes in accounting for leases and revenue recognition as well as the increasing disclosure requirements with regards to climate and sustainability. Michael will continue to deploy this expertise at Crowe, guiding clients through the significant accounting changes that will be required as a result of amendments to the UK accounting standard (FRS 102) and the introduction on IFRS-like revenue and lease accounting.
Michael will be joining recent appointments Kate Stent and Matthew Daniels in the Corporate Audit function, both based in our Thames Valley office. Michael will support the firm’s work to champion businesses across the Northwest region, including in the manufacturing sector. The region retains strong strategic importance, going forward, as evidenced by us signing a lease at St. George’s House in Manchester in September 2024 off the back of strong and steady growth both nationally and in the Northwest region.
Nigel Bostock, Chief Executive of Crowe UK, says:
“I am pleased to welcome Michael as a new partner, joining us in our new Manchester office space. Michael’s appointment to our partnership will bolster the expertise of our Corporate Audit team, particularly through his expertise in reporting and compliance across a range of sectors and follows hot on the heels of two new Corporate Audit partner appointments in the Thames Valley office.
We are proud to support the continued growth of our Corporate Audit function, to deliver value for the firm and our clients.”
Michael Harvey, Partner in Crowe’s Corporate Audit team, comments:
“This is an exciting time to be at Crowe. The firm has invested in technology, people, and recently moved to a new office space in Manchester. We’re continuing to demonstrate our commitment to our people, clients, and the wider growth plan across the northwest.
“I am excited to join the team in Manchester and look forward to helping build on the growth and success that Michael Jayson and the team have achieved over the past few years.”
Michael Jayson, Office Managing Partner for Manchester, expressed his enthusiasm about the new appointment:
