While the impacts of the pandemic have dominated news headlines since early 2020, the focus is now moving back to the risk of climate change, in the short, medium and longer-term. Global events, including record temperatures, forest fires in Greece and California and floods across India and Bangladesh show the immediate impacts. It’s a hot topic, literally. Earth is heating up at an unprecedented rate and the race is on to try and prevent this incline from surpassing 2°C, preferably by stopping at a 1.5°C rise from pre-industrial levels.
Start delivering a positive impact
Climate change affects every organisation to some extent. There is a need for early discussion around climate-related risks to ensure a smooth transition to the net-zero or carbon neutral goals set by government. Those organisations which get ahead of the reporting and regulations will be geared up to deal with future policies and will also increase their appeal to their stakeholders.
