Analysing the challenges and opportunities for those working in care as they assess ‘What’s next?’ for 2022 and beyond

Recent reports paint a picture of health and social care under pressure, with providers struggling to retain staff, maintain quality and stay in business and commissioners making unenviable choices on where to make reductions. The pandemic has shone a light on the valuable and essential support that organisations involved in providing care deliver and has amplified long-standing structural issues of underfunding and a deep staffing crisis.

We have combined the analysed responses to our care sector survey (distributed in October 2021) with insight gained from working with many organisations in the sector to comment on the challenges and opportunities faced. The insights will help the sector to understand and pinpoint areas that all care charities should be focusing on today to remain effective tomorrow.

The full report focuses on the following areas:

  • Ongoing challenges
  • Funding
  • Reporting
  • Technology
  • Looking to the future
  • Our conclusions
  • Survey details and demographics
