Development of the Auditing Profession: New Practices and Services

On November 29, 2023, the Auditors’ Chamber of Ukraine organized an exciting online conference titled “Development of the Auditing Profession: New Practices and Services” to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Auditing”. This celebration became possible with the support of the EU Project “Implementation of EU Practices in Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Auditing in Ukraine” EU-FAAR. The conference discussed the challenges facing auditors, identified new directions for the development of the auditing business, its responsibilities, and its role in ensuring the sustainable economic development of Ukraine. Domestic and international experts representing various fields of the profession, such as consulting, corporate management, assessment, and sustainable development reporting, were invited to participate in the event.

One of the presentations was given by Olga Bohdanova, Managing Partner of Crowe Erfolg Ukraine (a member of Crowe Global), who focused on the prospects for Ukraine’s recovery after the war. She highlighted four main sources of funding and reconstruction plans, envisioning $750 billion in investments over the next 10 years, including attracting $60-65 billion this year alone. The key promising areas include the defense industry, energy, agriculture, natural resources, digital technologies, and the restoration of transportation and other infrastructure.
