SME Internationalization - Individual Operations
This incentive aims to support business training operations intended at internationalizing business models through the adoption of more advanced business strategies that increase the capacity for integration into global value chains.
In this incentive, a clear focus is given on  operations that aim to produce tradable and internationalizable goods and services, within the framework of broader and more value-added production chains and value chains, helping to strenghten the export orientation and external competitiveness of the Portuguese economy.

Covered actions

Support can be given to operations that aim to adopt more advanced business strategies and to increase the capacity to integrate into global value chains, through actions in the field of: 

  • Knowledge, prospecting, and presence in external markets
  • International Marketing
  • Online presence and e-commerce
  • International brand creation and promotion
  • Organizational innovation related to business practices or external relations
  • Quality and specific certification to the external markets: 

Eligible expenses

  • Salary costs for hiring qualified human resources, including base salary and mandatory social security contributions by the employer, with the exception of living allowances.
  • Costs incurred for participating in fairs and exhibitions abroad, including space rental, stand construction, and its operation.
  • Costs of specialized consultancy services provided by external consultants, which do not constitute an ongoing or periodic activity and are not related to the normal operation of the beneficiaries, including expenses with the intervention of certified accountants or statutory auditors, in the validation of the expenditure of payment requests, costs associated with the certification of products, processes or services, costs of designing and registering new trademarks, costs associated with the hosting and subscription of applications, adherence to electronic platforms or inclusion in directories and search engines.
  • Other costs of specialized consultancy services provided by external consultants, including expenses aimed at incorporating ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles into companies with a view to adopting environmental, social and corporate governance practices, including, but not limited to, services related to audit processes and obtaining certifications of systems, services and products in the environmental area, such as obtaining the Eco-label and the Eco-management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
  • Other expenses related to the internationalization promotion, including the prospection and capture of new customers and promotional actions carried out in external markets.

40% of the eligible investment in the form of a non-refundable incentive

The maximum incentive to be granted per operation is 315 thousand euros, with the exception of investments located in the NUTS II Algarve.

Register an individual export (international turnover) of more than 200 thousand euros in the pre-project year

  • Phase 1: until 30/09/2024 (5pm)
