CHICAGO (July 11, 2024) – Expanding on its metals industry-specific technology offerings, Crowe LLP, a public accounting, consulting and technology firm, has announced the launch of Crowe Metals Accelerator for E-commerce. Built on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, this new solution is a pre-built template that enables metals companies of all sizes to easily create and manage a business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce website for their customers to find, research and order metal products.

Crowe has served metals companies for almost 40 years as a technology implementer and adviser, with the mission of helping clients thrive in a changing world. This new solution is an add-on to the Crowe Metals Accelerator, an industry-specific, scalable and robust enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the metals industry. With Crowe Metals Accelerator for E-commerce, metals companies can get their website up and running with highly customizable, user-friendly interfaces designed to enhance B2B buying journeys and offer real-time access to personalized data for each user on both mobile and desktop browsers.

We are seeing a new generation of buyers who enjoy the convenience and accessibility of online purchasing, so it is becoming increasingly more important for metals companies to integrate e-commerce into their business models,” said Andrew Callaghan, managing principal of the metals group at Crowe. Crowe Metals Accelerator for E-commerce enables companies of all sizes to launch a new sales channel at a competitive price point, giving them more capacity to scale and guide their businesses toward future growth.

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform delivers world-class data protection, authentication and fraud protection capabilities, providing Crowe Metals Accelerator for E-commerce with a highly secure foundation that meets stringent cybersecurity requirements and protects customer data. Crowe collaborated with Microsoft, metals customers and product design specialists to develop an experience that streamlines operations for all users. When a customer completes the checkout process, a sales order is automatically created in an ERP, assisting in material reservation and optimizing planning processes. Additionally, customer-oriented features like favorites, order templates, and the option to add or remove personal addresses are already built in to the solution.

“As Microsoft continues to invest in cutting-edge B2B commerce capabilities, we are delighted to see partners like Crowe innovate on our platform to deliver specialized solutions,” said Brendan Sullivan, head of strategy and growth for Dynamics 365 Commerce at Microsoft. “This collaboration with Crowe not only enhances the e-commerce experience for metals companies, but also demonstrates the transformative impact of Microsoft’s recent B2B commerce investments.”
