Rubber

Besides palm oil, there are remnants of the rubber agriculture industry in Malaysia, where a good acreage of rubber is still being tapped. As of 2017, Malaysia is the fifth largest producer and exporter of natural rubber although natural rubber production has been on a steady decline due to low rubber prices, shortage of land, weather conditions and a decrease in rubber demand.

Despite this decline, Malaysia continues to top the global market for rubber product manufacturing, especially in the area of medical gloves, protective wear and utility-based rubber products.
