Volumes and net revenue return nationally, but not to previous levels

Patient volumes dipped substantially during the initial portion of the COVID-19 pandemic and have not yet recovered fully or enough for most hospitals to achieve sustainable financial performance improvement. To survive, these hospitals will need to lower their cost structure and embrace new models of care delivery.
