The Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe
As of 1 March 2021, the standard rate of Irish VAT is due to revert to 23%. In its July Stimulus Package, the rate had been reduced to 21% for a six-month period from 1 September 2020 to 28 February 2021.
The Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe has confirmed that he has no plans to extend the reduction in the standard rate of VAT beyond its planned expiry at the end of this month.

The lower rate of VAT for hospitality services which was reduced to 9% in Budget 2021 will remain in place until the end of 2021 as planned.
