Anna Curley

We take a few minutes to have a quick virtual watercooler catch up with Anna Curley, who joined us in October 2020. We find out a little about her background, the advice from her parents that she lives by and how lockdown has helped her gain perspective and stress less.
Briefly, tell me about your career to date
I trained in EisnerAmper, qualifying in 2016, before moving to KPMG in 2019. I joined Crowe in October 2020. I am a Tax Manager, with a focus on corporation tax.
Why Crowe?
I had a previous working relationship with tax partner Cormac Doyle. When I bumped into him, he suggested that I consider Crowe. The size of the firm, access to partners and the nature of work undertaken by the tax team was very attractive to me.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Two aspects. The challenges and learnings in tax – one can will never know everything! I also enjoy working with the trainees and helping them with their development. Crowe has a large cohort of young people which makes it fun!
Give me three words that describe Crowe’s culture
Collaborative, sociable, dynamic.
What is the best advice you have received and from whom?
Work hard and rewards will come – from my parents.
What has been your lockdown take way experience?
Try and enjoy life a bit more and not stress on the small things. Before lockdown I was always rushing, now I take more time.
What have you really missed because of lockdown?
The social aspects, seeing my friends and meeting up with them in a restaurant.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Shopping in Zara and my puppy, Dolly. She is eight months old and is a complete drama queen who rules the house!
What’s your hidden talent?
I would love to say I’m an excellent dog trainer, but that is still a work in progress!
What have been your favourite TV show during lockdown?
Line of Duty – I have been watching since Season One so eagerly awaited each Sunday night when it returned this Spring.
