About the role – Audit Manager

We are seeking a talented, experienced Audit Manager to join our growing audit team. You will work closely with an Audit Partner to deliver high-quality assurance and accounting assignments to a varied portfolio of dynamic clients across multiple industries and of varying company sizes. This will provide you with the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of sectors and business models. You will also manage a team of motivated and capable trainees and qualified accountants, supporting their development and fostering a collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and Manage Audits: Take ownership of audit assignments, ensuring proper planning and execution across various industries, addressing specific risks and challenges. You will oversee multiple concurrent audits while maintaining high-quality delivery and meeting deadlines.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong client relationships, ensuring seamless collaboration with client teams and delivering tailored insights that add value to their business. Manage client expectations while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Team Leadership and Mentoring: Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of junior and senior staff, providing guidance, feedback, and training to support their professional development. Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment across the audit team.
  • Quality and Compliance Delivery: Ensure that audits comply with relevant standards and are executed within agreed timelines and budgets. Deliver high-quality financial statements and audit reports with clear, actionable recommendations on risks and control weaknesses.
  • Business Development and Tenders: Contribute to the firm’s growth by participating in tenders, fee quotes, and business development opportunities, taking ownership of ad hoc projects that align with strategic goals.
  • Project Management and Financial Oversight: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of assurance assignments, ensuring the efficient use of resources, timely billing, and adherence to internal controls, such as WIP, timesheets, and recoveries.

What You Bring:

  • A qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 3 plus years relevant practice PQE.
  • Proven understanding of managing a portfolio of clients, the relevant filing deadlines, and successful deadline management.
  • Strong focus on assignment / audit quality
  • Strong commercial sense and excellent analytical skills, purposeful, proactive and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good practical knowledge and understanding of the general Irish corporate compliance environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and an excellent ability to supervise, foster and develop the existing excellent team culture.
  • Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of Irish GAAP, IFRS, International Standards on Auditing (Ireland) (ISAs (Ireland)) and Irish company law.
  • Proven Project Management skills together with the ability to handle multiple tasks / projects concurrently in a practice environment.
  • Experience in using CaseWare would be advantageous but not essential.
