Gerry is a partner in the firm’s audit department after joining from Newmarket Partnership – a firm Gerry set up and ran for twenty years. Throughout his career Gerry has provided strategic corporate and financial advice to a wide variety of companies from large Irish companies and SMEs including such well known companies as Thorntons Recycling, McCambridge’s and Wholesale Newspaper Services.
His mantra is to thoroughly understand his clients’ business, and its drivers, and his down-to-earth and practical approach has led to growth, improved performance and greater opportunities for his clients.
After qualifying in Dublin he joined EY in London and Toronto, where he worked with many large public companies, state owned and private limited companies in audit and consulting services.
Returning to Dublin in 1988 he joined Newmarket Partnership, a firm focused on the needs of dynamic privately owned business. In this role he brought the experience of his early training as well as his international experience to provide strong analytical and strategic skills to drive business growth, mergers, acquisitions and disposals.
Gerry also developed a strong interest in logistics and transport industry advising many companies on structures, contract pricing and finance as well as providing training services to industry representative bodies.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, Gerry also holds a Diploma in Corporate Finance.
I try not to think too much like an accountant. Of course as a discipline it is important, but it is the strategic, cultural and personal forces in the business which ultimately make the difference.
