Crowe Indonesia, Bank of China and IDX Encourage China Businesses in Indonesia to Go Public

Crowe Indonesia recently supported Bank of China Jakarta Branch and IDX in conducting a China Business Forum with a topic of "Enhancing the Power of Indonesia Capital Market". Taking place in the main hall of IDX building in Jakarta on 8^th of January 2020, the forum aimed at encouraging China businesses in Indonesia to go-public by listing their shares on Indonesia Stock Exchange.

The forum has successfully gathered more than 120 Executives from around 80 Chinese companies in Indonesia who have interest in becoming a public company in the country. Mr. Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment of Republic of Indonesia was among some high profile names who gave keynote speech. The Coordinating Minister shared the latest development of Indonesian economy as well as the bilateral trade relationship between Indonesia and China. Other high profile names who attended the event include Mr. Xiao Qian, China Ambassador to Indonesia; Mr. Zhang Chao Yang, Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia; Mr. John A. Prasetio, President Commissioner of IDX; and Mr. Inarno Djajadi, President Director of IDX.

A Panel discussion was one of the most anticipated sessions in this forum. Being led by Mr. Richard Zhang, Crowe Indonesia’s Director of China Desk, Panelists of the discussion shared their knowledge about doing IPO in Indonesia and how listing shares in the country’s stock exchange can be beneficial for China businesses. Mrs. Novita Lubis, Managing Director of Crowe Indonesia Capital Market and Advisory Deal as one of the Panelists shared knowledge about steps in executing IPO in Indonesia and key factors to consider to achieve successful IPO. Above all, the key objective of the discussion was to encourage Chinese companies to take their businesses to the next level by going public in the country.

The end of the China Business Forum was marked by a closing bell ceremony of the day’s trading, followed by a remarkable closing speech from Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia, Chairman of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board.
