Howard is
the managing director of TRUSTA. He has over thirty years of public accountancy
experience and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s practice and
deliverables. Prior to founding TRUSTA, he was with the international
accounting firm of Ernst & Young.
Howard
earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from
the University of Hawaii. He studied international, advance corporate and
partnership taxation at George Washington University and New York University's
School of Law. He developed and taught international tax seminars for the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Hawaii Society of
Certified Public Accountants, authored and co-authored tax articles. He is a
certified Crowe Horwath International Hotel Audit Course Instructor and
Business College Academic Advisor, and served as governance, accounting and
reporting expert to several court-appointed masters.
Howard is
a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Hawaii
Society of Certified Public Accountants (past Board member receiving the
Distinguish Service Award and Tax Committee Chair), past member of the Hawaii
Board of Public Accountancy (chaired its Investigative Committee on Peer
Review), Beta Alpha Psi, a founding member of the National Association of State
Boards of Accountancy Center for the Public Trust, and serves or served on
numerous notable nonprofit Boards.
