What does implementing a climate roadmap mean?
Step 1: Scoping the low-carbon strategy
- Contextualise carbon-related issues according to your business model
- Define your scope of carbon issues
- Assess the short-term and long-term risks and opportunities related to regulations, carbon prices, market trends (low-carbon innovations, resources' increasing prices, labels...) as well as reputation and environmental physical risks
- Estimate the possibilities of reduction: quantify, develop scenarios, understand the main action levers.
Step 2: Implementing reduction targets
- Define your ambition, your mid-term and long-term objectives (in line with the 1.5°C, carbon neutrality, SBTI, etc...)
- Define the operational objectives:
- The scope of emissions: transports, energy, etc...
- The objective's base (indicator): volume, intensity
- The level of ambitions : 19%, 50gCO2/m² …
- Planning : from 2020 to 2030 / from 2020 to 2050
Step 3: Deployment of your road map
- Implementing a managing system (governance, follow-up indicators, incentives, etc...) ans tools to pilot your reduction targets.
- Define an operational action plan adapted to your sector and jobs
- Lead projects and pilot their development
- « Never forget to fund your deployment »
