2019 EMEA Tax Conference
Africa
Aka our 5 corporate values that we are trying to meet every day. To continue to provide our clients with a highly professional level of service, to be able to offer a long-term relationship based on mutual trust and respect, to find the most effective solutions to their problems and to help focus on our core business while we take care of everything else. With all described above, help us… Crowe.
One way to continually achieve our values is by strengthening international cooperation across the Crowe Group, for example by participating in international thematic events such as the EMEA Tax Conference in Marrakech, Africa.
The Tax Conference, which took place from 19 to 21 June (for the second time outside Europe and for the first time in Africa), offered the opportunity for meeting of our tax professionals from across the EMEA region. They could openly discuss regional tax trends, potential business threats, share experiences, approaches and professional opportunities, strengthen relationships across the Crowe Group, and develop even deeper cooperation and international business.
And what topics resonated throughout the conference? According to our Tax Manager, Andrea Kleinová, who represented Crowe Czech Republic, these were:
And the main insights that Andrea got from the conference? "The future of taxation - as of other industries - is double-edged, with digitalisation on the one hand, and ever-increasing demands on the people who will operate the robots, especially in the area of soft skills. This is also related to motivation, leadership and the ability to adapt quickly to changes.”
EMEA Leadership Week
France
EMEA Tax Conference was not the only one where we sent a representatives of the Czech office. Ivana Bracuzká, our Director of Payroll Division, was one of the participants in the EMEA Leadership Academy within the EMEA Leadership Week in France.
The fourth Academy took place at the beautiful Château de Bellinglis in Sainte Marguerite, France, and was intended primarily for leaders in the respective Crowe firms, who are enthusiastic about cross-border work and building relationships with their fellow colleagues within the network. The primary focus of the seminar was to improve skills of business development and networking. The Academy was led by an external facilitator, Peter Alfandary (TED Talk presenter).
And how Ivana sees her participation in Academy?“The event was great, full of wonderful people and amazing experiences. It brought me another look at BD and networking. I have got lot of interesting tips for me personally and for our business. At the same time, I had the opportunity to personally meet colleagues from 14 countries around the world and discuss with them the differences in business and culture in each country. It's always easier to build business with people you know personally. And when all this is enhanced by a beautiful place and excellent food, then such an event becomes an unforgettable experience.”
