Christopher Hicks is a manager in the Tax Group at Crowe Soberman. He joined the firm in 2022 on secondment from Crowe UK LLP before joining the firm permanently in 2023. Chris works with a diverse clientele spanning multiple industries, acquiring valuable proficiency in delivering tax compliance and tax planning solutions to his clients.
Chris enjoys engaging directly with clients to tackle intricate challenges, particularly within the firm's Sports and Entertainment Group. He offers tax assistance to a wide spectrum of individuals, which includes musicians, actors, and entertainers, as well as those working behind the scenes such as touring crews, film directors, and producers.
He contributes to the firm’s tax publications and writes articles, blogs, and infographics for the firm’s Sports and Entertainment group.
With a background in personal and corporate tax compliance, Chris provides advisory services in owner-manager taxation planning, corporate restructurings, estate and succession planning, tax residency concerns, and cross-border taxation of non-residents conducting business in Canada.
An active participant and committee member of the Words Matter, a sub-group established under the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiative at Crowe Soberman, Chris contributes to informing and educating employees on appropriate language use. This includes highlighting rhetoric that may unintentionally be harmful.
