The FCPA and FCA distinctions are awarded to members who have rendered exceptional services to the profession, or whose achievements in their careers or in the community have earned them accreditation and brought honor to the profession. It is regarded as the highest distinction bestowed upon a CPA within the accounting profession. Ken Laloge's commitment to the accounting profession and involvement in the community has earned him the respectful FCPA and FCA accreditations.
His journey into accounting began at Red Deer College, where he was Student Council President; a member of the Board of Governors; and represented the men's curling team at a provincial level. Ken finished his undergrad at the University of Alberta.
Shortly after obtaining his degree, Ken became a devoted member of the Crowe MacKay LLP team, contributing 30 years of his practice to Crowe. His time with Crowe has given him many opportunities where he's served at the national and provincial levels in the professional organizations of designated accountants, in the community, and in the firm.
From a student to a master of his field Ken has grown in so many ways, noting that "nothing that lead to the FCPA, FCA award was an individual activity or achieved without the support of others."
Ken believes that recent honor of Fellow of the CPA and CAs is "an example of teamwork and support from partners, administrative staff, clients, and other professionals inside and outside the firm." Ken tells us that he's received a "high level of support from the firm," allowing for "a wide range of diverse successes in improving tax education, the Central Okanagan community, not for profit organizations, and sports organizations, as well as assisting my colleagues."
"The team we have and our clients make us what we are. I have worked with the best of both and they inspire commitment." - Ken Laloge
Mark Pike, who's also received FCPA and FCA distinctions, comments on the distinction being "a recognition by your peers that you have played an important part in the profession" and that, to those in the profession, it is a designation that is cause for admiration. Mark and Ken have been Partners for close to 30 years and Mark believes Ken richly deserves the honor.
It's Ken's dedication to his company and his years of tenacious community involvement that has allowed him to be recognized by his peers, adding seven more respectful letters, FCPA and FCA, behind his name. Lori Mathison, FCPA, FCGA, LLB, president and CEO of CPABC says Ken "is an inspiration for other professionals in the province."
We want to extend our dearest congratulation and thanks for your devotion and commitment to Crowe MacKay and the community we all live in.
