I worked for MacKay in the late eighties/early nineties, mostly for Nazir Kachra and Brent Penner. They were lovely bosses! In September 2003, a very low and difficult time in my life, I really needed a job. My first thought was Nazir. After a gap of ten years, I was a little nervous about calling him but he seemed delighted to hear from me. He called me back about 30 minutes later and asked me to come in for an interview the very next day. So, I went and had a lovely interview/chat/catch-up with him and Brent. They offered me a job and I started two days later! I’m pretty sure I have never told them how much this meant to me at the time – you really gave me back my confidence and belief in myself, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And sixteen years later, they are still great bosses!
