Crowe MacKay’s student program was a great experience. Weekly meetings with my CFE mentor helped me stay on track and ensured I was following the schedule properly. Furthermore, the in-person Densmore course brought significant value to the study program. 

Since joining Crowe MacKay, I have had endless support as I have grown in the firm, with lots of mentorship from our partnership base. This has allowed me to structure my position in a way that isn’t solely client service. On top of my duties as a Senior Manager, I lead our local recruiting efforts, help build policies as part of our Diversity and Inclusion Council, and plan many of our social events. 

Having a Crowe mentor who has gone through the CFE process and understands the feelings that a writer experiences throughout the process helps make you more comfortable as they’re someone you can discuss your issues with. Lastly, Crowe lays out a summer schedule, which was effective for me as it allowed me to know what I needed to focus on during my studies rather than going off-track and overdoing it.

Choosing where to article as a student was an important choice for me. I considered culture, work-life balance, career opportunities, and an education support system. After looking into Crowe, I knew the firm would meet all my needs, providing a great environment to grow as a professional.

I had the opportunity to work at Crowe MacKay as a co-op student. During my term, the managers and partners set an enjoyable work culture, and team members were friendly and welcoming. With such a great work environment, I returned to Crowe after graduation.

Crowe has a really good combination of accelerating experience and strong support for the CPA program. Being given increasingly complex work while working towards the CFE allowed me to see real-life examples of the content I was learning on the CPA Program, making it easier to understand and  apply concepts in both real life and exam context. Crowe uses supportive mentorship, peer groups, study leaving, and an enhanced CFE study program to ensure success as a CPA student. I valued all these key elements and they served me well on the CFE, where I achieved National Honor Roll.

I wanted to work with a firm that cares about and invests in people. At Crowe MacKay I am able to step outside my comfort zone and I am given the support I need to grow and succeed, enabling me to have confidence as I start my career.

For anyone considering a secondment opportunity within any of the Crowe offices, my advice is this: do it. It provides you with such an amazing opportunity to grow professionally and to visit a place you may have never considered possible before.

Joining Crowe MacKay has been a game-changer for me. It offers an incredible breadth of experience and the flexibility to focus on the areas I’m most passionate about. The open and supportive atmosphere encourages continuous learning from talented colleagues, while the dedicated CPA mentorships have played a pivotal role in enhancing my study process.
