In Memory of Ronald Gallay, FCA, CA
Crowe BGK bid a final farewell to one of our retired partners, Ronald (Ron) Gallay, FCA, CA on December 20, 2023. Ron joined Crowe BGK in 1960 and for decades was a key leader of our firm. We have proudly carried the Gallay name since the 1960’s, most recently rebranding from Bessner Gallay Kreisman to Crowe BGK.
Ron and his partners at the time laid the foundation for Crowe BGK; which is now a 250-person firm with offices in Montreal and Ottawa. Ron made an impactful impression on anyone who had the privilege of crossing his path. He was distinguished, graceful and wise. He took great joy in sharing his knowledge and experience being a lecturer at McGill; an advisor to his clients; and a guide to the many staff during his tenure at the firm. His profound and skillful tax expertise led to one of our firm’s first specialisations. He empowered his team to learn from their mistakes and have the courage to think outside of the box to become solid accountants and practitioners. He was generous and caring; demonstrated by his lifetime devotion to fundraising and donating to charitable organizations dear to him. The accounting profession recognized his amazing professional and personal contributions, earning him the prestigious title of FCA. Ron was a well-respected gentleman; both as a business man and as a friend.
Our cherished memories of Ron will stay with us forever and may he rest in peace.
