Background
Crowe Barbados is the evolution of Soren Inc. (Soren). The latter was founded
in Barbados back in November 2003. Its ability to service its clientele depended largely on the vast experience of its founder, Everton Trotman and a pool of talented professionals who had moved away from the Big four accounting firms. Collectively, the professional staff possessed more than 50 years of combined experience in
providing professional services in a wide range of industries including banking,
finance, insurance, investment, hedge funds, real estate, hotels and
restaurants, manufacturing, retail and distribution. This enabled the firm to add additional services to its legacy services like audit, compilations and tax . It added risk consulting in 2008 and it had an enviable track record in fraud/forensics services.
Around the same time that Orlanda joined the firm, Soren became a full member of Crowe Global. Crowe Barbados was formed. It merged with Soren took over Soren's client portfolio in mid-2018 and is now the surviving entity that carries on the business.
Management
The firm is managed by two partners, both of whom possess a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Staff and Service Delivery
All the qualified professional staff that work with Crowe Barbados have a strong audit and accounting background by having worked with the Big four accounting firms for many years. Hence, there is strong leadership and mentorship on the job. In assigning staff to engagements, we place high importance on maintaining continuity of staff from one year to the next. This is important from a client service as well as an engagement efficiency perspective. Naturally, at times it does become necessary to replace a member of the engagement team with someone of comparable skills and experience.
Our Values
Our vision is built on deep specialization and a focus on our clients, our people, and the hallmarks of our profession: integrity, objectivity, and independence. This vision and our core values – care, share, invest, and grow – guide us in exercising professional skepticism, objectivity, and being free of conflicts of interest. They guide us in acting with the utmost integrity and professionalism in each interaction and provide a solid foundation for the firm.
