KSA Increase in customs duties for 99 Commodities

KSA Increase in customs

The Board of Directors of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has announced an increase in customs duties for (99) commodities.

This aims to promote and improve domestic production by protecting and boosting national industries and local agricultural products.

The decision came into force on 12 June 2022.

  • Among the changes, imported products affected by the increased in the customs duty rates include the following:

Meat and edible meat offal (Partridges, pheasants, quail, snipe, sand grouse and wild ducks- Fresh, chilled or frozen) and fresh eggs

Vegetables & Fruits / Juices (tomatoes, onions, carrots, cucumbers, eggplants, capsicum, and other types; Watermelons and figs) -

Range between 10% and 15%, depending on the product

Mineral Products (Pure Magnesium Oxide & Calcareous Magnesium Oxide)

15%

Plastics

6.5%

Toughened (tempered) safety glass for vehicles, aircraft, spacecraft or vessels and others

Range between 12% and 15%

Live Animals

(Sheep and Goat for slaughter)

7%

Different types of fish and shrimps

Range from 6%, 8% to 12%, depending on the product

Extra virgin olive oil and other

12%
