Nicholas has more than 20 years of public accounting experience as a trusted adviser to closely held, private equity-owned, and publicly traded businesses. Since joining Crowe in 2004, he has provided expertise in the areas of federal and state tax consulting and compliance with extensive focus in pass-through taxation.

Nicholas has spent the majority of his career focusing on family-owned and private equity-owned businesses with revenues up to $3 billion. Many of these engagements included complex partnerships and consolidated corporate structures engaged in manufacturing and distribution operations and service-oriented businesses.

Within Crowe, Nicholas is a leader in private equity tax services for the West region, which focuses on organizations in diverse industries that are private equity-owned. He uses his expertise to provide services related to merger and acquisition consulting, transaction structuring, and partnership taxation technical issues.

Nicholas also has experience with state and local tax services, including numerous multistate compliance reviews, nexus studies, and the planning and management of state and local tax liability mitigation plans.
