Mark A. Baer

Mark Baer is the immediate past CEO of Crowe, having previously served as CEO from April 2021 to December 2024. Crowe LLP is a leading U.S. public accounting and consulting firm with more than 6,000 professionals. The firm leverages its deep industry expertise to provide audit, tax, and consulting services to public and private entities. In his current global strategy role, Baer focuses on a number of strategic international growth initiatives for the U.S. firm, including working closely with Crowe Global and its member firms around the world. As an independent member of Crowe Global, one of the largest global accounting networks in the world, Crowe LLP serves clients worldwide. The Crowe Global network consists of more than 200 independent accounting and advisory services firms in more than 130 countries around the world.

During his tenure as CEO, Baer served on the Crowe LLP board of directors, the firmwide management committee, the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) governing board, and the Crowe Global board of directors. Prior to his election as CEO, Baer served over five years as the managing partner of the firm’s audit and assurance business unit, leading a team of more than 1,200 audit professionals. Baer has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, serving both public and private companies.

Baer serves as a trustee of the Crowe Foundation, whose mission is to enhance the health and well-being of our people and the communities we serve through dedicated efforts and impactful investments. Baer also serves on the national board of directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the board of trustees for Manchester University.
