John Epperson

John Epperson serves as the chief risk officer and is a principal of the firm. His responsibilities include embedding risk management into the firm’s strategic planning and decision-making processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a risk-aware culture that enhances trust within the profession and among the clients Crowe serves.

Previously, John was the managing principal of the Crowe financial services industry vertical and led the integrated risk management group. In these capacities, he helped financial services companies innovate new products and services, transform their business models and processes, and navigate the complexities of risk and compliance associated with change. With over 20 years of experience in risk management and the financial services industry, John has successfully led various transformational and regulatory-driven projects for a diverse range of clients, from startup fintech companies to top global financial services firms.
